Can anybody tell me if the Loadmaster can be used to load .45 Winmag?

I called Lee and the lady I talked to said something about having to modify a #2 shell plate to get it to index properly.

I think so, doesn't the 45 win mag use the same shell holder as the 308 or 30'06? If it does, the press is sure big enough. You would need the double disk powder measure because the single disk one only goes up to about 20.5 grains of 2400.

The 45 Win Mag is just a stretched version of the 45acp and yes it will fit a shellholder for a 308 rifle round.

Some reloading manuals/equipment makers call for a different shellholder for the 45 Win Mag. I think it may depend on the brass you have.

I'll be using WW brass. I have an M-1 carbine that's been converted to .45 Win Mag, and I'd like to try a turret press to load for it.

I've been looking at the Lee 6 cavity mold buy and have been wondering if it's too heavy for it.

A friend here in Delta has one of the M1's converted to 45 win mag and he shoots my 400gn FNGC in it. He likes to carry it for protection when berry picking. I guess it will handle anything from a Lee mold too.

Can you give me a bit more info on the load's? I didn't realize I could get away with such a heavy bullet or that profile.
