Starting price $175, current bid $680 for an 8 lb. jug!!!!!!! What seems as crazy is there are 11 bidders. And only 6 hrs. left to bid! This is a sure sign of the madness that has a hold of people on auction sites. I like Varget - but not that much! This stuff is made in Aussieland, wonder what the problem is on there end of manfactureing it?:confused:Robert

Gee! Just a couple days ago I plucked an 8 lb jug of Varget out of a fresh case to look over the data on it. I was trying to decide on whether I wanted to try some of that or Reloder 10x. I left with a lb of 10x and a few thousand primers.

I think the price on the Varget was $145-$150.

I spoke to ALL the component vendors today at the NRA convention. The rumor about Hodgdon not being able to get the plastic jars they sell their powders in is false. ALL component manufacturers are working 24-7 and shipping 7 days a week. They are all operating at their full capacity. This goes for powder, primers, bullets and brass. At some time in the near future (3-4 months in my estimation), the market will saturate and we will get back to normal. In the mean time, fools will be fools, and will pay near $700 for 8 pounds of powder and $100/1,000 primers. All we can do is sit back and laugh.

Regards,

Stew

...............The only thing I can say is that it's apparent that there are obviously morons who reload :-) The winning bidder must have been in a life or death situation to pay that. WHat are these people thinking???????????

The cost of Varget is stable here at around $250 for 4 kgs roughly 8.9 pounds.
