Sizing necessary .358 to .356 ?

Would it be necessary to size a tumble lube .358 cast bullet to .356 to shoot out of my 9mm ? Or are there any advantages. I would be lubing with Alox. Thanks

Depends on your 9 and your cases. Load a couple of dummy rounds @ .358 to check for function, if you are using mixed head stamp brass then load many dummy rounds.

If they feed and function fine @ .358 then go for it, if not then try .356

I do size to .356 in the .358- 105 and 140 gr SWC and they feed fine in my KP 95 and Pt 111 Mill Pro, also tumble lubing.

You may get some leading, depending upon your alloy, velocity of load and bore diameter.

Additionally, depending on your gun, a .358 diameter boolit may not chamber or may give you feed jam issues. It may bulge your (9mm) cases too much to allow feeding.

I size mine to .357 which seems to work fine

My 9mm's slug at .356" so I size just a shade over .357" with a Lee push through sizer. You might want to slug your bore before sizing. I think most folks shoot for .001 to .002" over bore diameter.

In general, make mine a thou over groove; the "thou over bore" formula can be used for bore riding noses if the bands are still a thou over groove.

I've got a Star A (9mm Largo) with a .354 barrel that likes unsized .357's and .358's. But like mentioned above if the boolit its to long it will bulge the case.
