Finally got one today, worth keeping. BBl length is 22" and is in excellent condition. Does anyone have any suggested loads for this boolit in this caliber. I have 2400, 4227, 4759, I have had good success using 4759 and this boolit in my 7.62x54R Model 27 moisin nagant. Thanks, Frank

I would start with about 16 grains of 2400 and work up to the sweet spot. You will also want to slug that puppy as I have them between 312 and 315. The 4759 should work ok also, but my best load is with Red Dot.

KCSO, is this the famous "the load" I have heard everyone talking about?. Thanks for the info. Frank

I've several M91s still in the origial 7.65 Argentine (3 with shortened barrels and one full length M91). All will shoot sub 2 MOA at 100 yards including the original rifle with it's military sights. I use 314299 cast of WWs (water quenched) and sized .314. Hornady GCs and Javelina lube are used. I load them over 27 gr of surplus 4895 (Hodgdon or IMR 4895 works great also) with a 1 gr dacron filler. Velocity is 1816 fps out of the rifle, less in the shorter barrels.

Lee's 314-90-SWC-TL (or Hoprnady's swaged 90 gr SWC) sized .314 over 3.2 gr of Bulleye (no dacron) is a great small game or plinking load at 800+ fps.

Frank- "The Load" was originaly 13.0 Red Dot and then the 16.0 2400 was found to also work about the same.

I only load 11 grains of Red Dot (promo) in my 1891, and it shoots that great with a soupcan or group buy C314 1502R both sized to 314 with a gas check.

.................Frank, the 7.65 Arg is in the same class (full power battle rifle) as the 8x57, 30-06, 308, 7.62x54R, 7.5x55, 303, 7.7 Jap, and 7x57. Most any intermediate load for any of these will swap all around amongst them as a starting place to work from.

I'm kinda partial to 4198 and 20-23grs works really well. Sometimes though the darn rifle just really 'takes' to some powders over others. Harmonics maybe :-). For most any shooting up to 1800 fps with most any mid-range weight boolit 5744, 4227, 2400, 4198, SR4759 all seem to fit in well. Actually Unique should be in there also.

El Pistolero who shoots with us on Tuesday is using something like 8.0grs of Unique in his 8x57. I was giving him a hard time about it, and said he needed to be carefull the slug didn't bounce off his target, come back and hit him in the gut!

Thanks for the info guys. Been spending quality time cleaning the copper out of the bbl. I have some #314299's already cast so as soon as possible will try out some of your load suggestions. Frank
