I hope this works....I have been gathering WW for a while and decided to melt them all down and pour them into large ingots. It turned out to be quite a long day because for some reason my furnace fuel to air mixture was messed up.

No thread like this is complete without a picture of the output! Where's your fresh pile?

He really didn't smelt anything. He's just trying to make us jealous by flashing us pictures of his WW stash. And what a nice stash it tis. :Fire:

Boy am I P.O. I just spent a lot of time editing this and was told I didn't have permission to do so.
So I will try this way. The first pic. is of the furnace with an old lino ingot resting on it.
Number 2 and 3 are of some 5 gal. buckets and a 120 lb. grease drum full of WW.
4 is of the furnace after about 4 hours and it has been recharged with about 4 buckets of WW.
5 & 6 are of the pile of WWs from the 120 lb. grease drum.
Pic 7 is of the furnace after all of the WWs have been melted and fluxed.
The next is of 8 of my old lino ingots preheating.
The last is of the improvised wind guard I had to put up. The wind started to get pretty high.
The camera then took a dump on me. But I ended up with 1053 lbs of ingots and about 200 lbs. of clips. I think I can get the cameral to work again and will try to post the pic. of the pile of ingots.
This whole project should have taken about 5 hours but because the furnace was suffering fuel, air mixture problems it took 10.....Wes

I also have a slightly larger pile of lino ingots and more WWs. I was just trying to show the old lino furnace and the ingots. Also have another 120 lb. grease drum filled with foundry type for futured use....Wes

imashooter I just wish I could come up with a lot of tin. I have a lot of pure lead, WWs, lino and foundry type but my tin supply in gone. I guess I will have to start trying to sort out the old radiator repair shops....Wes

Just looking at the results pic again... It never fails to amaze me just how small a 1,000 pound pile of lead is. :)

The furnace was nearly full when I started pouring. There may have been room for another 200 lbs. I kept the temp. low in order to exclude the zinkers, but when I got it all skimmed and wanted more heat the burners just wouldn't produce so I then hooked up a home made weed burner to help out the furnace burners.....Wes

Guess being from Texas you just HAVE to have a bigger pot than most . And I just ordered a burner to stick under my flea market pot that might hold a measly 50 lbs. !
