Four Fingers of Death

My Classic is an accurate rifle, but when I used it in a Pat Garrett match, it was easy to short stroke and consequently didn't lift the cartridge high enough to line it up with the chamber. The lever needs to be sort of cranked again to get it going. This has happened a few times, but I never seem to think of it when I got home. It is ok for deliberate shooting, but let your mind wanded for a split second and it will play up. What should I look for?

Which is why few shooters use these guns for SASS....too long a stroke.I have one in .357,and it's pretty much a safe queen as long as my M92 is running, which it always is it seems.
About the only thing you can do is wrap the finger leaver with leather to tighten up the space where your finges go .
