if you have this program, would you be willing to run some numbers for me? if so let me know what details you need! all I am realy after is psi for one load. thanks for any help.

i have a similar " loadtech"
for a load: bullet long ,weight, aol cartridge finish, barrel long,

I used 0.4" seating depth, I set bullet weight to 196gr, Almost 27K psi peak (Red-right side) and 1400fps (Black-left side))

No problem I saved your file so if you want to run something else it is pretty easy for me. If you know your actually velocity I can adjust to find actual pressure. Here's one comparing your Red Dot load (dashed) to a load with Unique :-D

you read my mind! I was thinking of asking about 12.5g unique! my crono died when I put a .357 mag right through the face with a bond derringer. (it got away from me!) do I understand the graph correctly? unique is very close in psi, but gets it latter? then has a slower decline in psi? and produces higher velocity? do you care to run a psi with 30g and 35g of imr5744? thanks again!!!!

sorry, I wrote the wrong powder, It should read IMR 3031 not 5744

you'll have that with a slower powder.
later peak and longer dwell time and higher velocities with an increase in charge weight.

for load tech the most fast powder is imr 4759 start 24,2 1785 f/s and 52875 psi
max 26,9 2000f/s and max press 58750
accurate XMP-5744 start 30,8 1990 f/s 52050 psi max34,2 2105f/s psi 58750 max
i can choose a powder it's was done by program

Here's the IMR-3031 plots.

Relative to your question about understanding the graphs, it all comes down to area under the curve. Simplifying things somewhat, the more area under the curve the higher velocity.

It is similar to closing a door. In which case will the door close quicker, smack it really fast with a flick of your finger (that'll hurt) or gentle continuous push. Hope that helps.
