Perhaps one of the forum browers can give me an answer for this. How many rounds can be shot in say a . 308 before accuracy begins to fall off?90 % of my shooting has been cast bullets.Shot a few others in NMC matches.Rifle still shoots round groups but nothing great.Plan to rebed the rifle this year .Total rounds would be close to 8000 at this time.

If you have been useing cast, you might, possibly, be breaking in the barrel by now.
I suspect, with brass, your great-great grandson might notice slight deterioration of accuracy.
That is provided you clean your rifle once in a while, and do not let it sit outside for any lengths of time.
I really doubt the powder charge used in firing cast loads in a .308 would erode the throat.

I'd say with cast bullets you could probably shoot about 90,000, yes ninety thousand rounds before you have to worry about it. yea, that's a guess.

:)

if the accuracy is deteriorating, clean the barrel. :)
