Bits of lead sticking in mold

I have a steel 2 cav mold that routinely gets little bits of lead sticking in the front band. I think this is causing lousey fillout - I'm guessing here, but part of the front band that stays clean fills out fine. It's a 200 gr 45acp mold. Is this something that can be corrected? I don't want to go digging around in a mold until I know what to do. Once again, HELP! Please Mike:roll:

Try "coloring in" the groove with a number 2 pencil,if that is not the cure then let us know.It can probably stand to have more done such as smoking the cavity...
