Looking for feedback on the possibility of sizing RCBS 145 7mm bullets to .278. This is to be used in a 6.8mm SPC. I would appreciate the thoughts of the experts.

I have sized .323 boolits down to .312 and .460 bullets down to .452, so going from .284 to .278 should be no problem. You will probably need to size and lube them at .284 first to keep the lube grroves from collapsing, and I'd recommend nose first sizing. Tony

First, give the boolits a shot of spray case lube(mainly for the noses) the you need to apply gas checks and run the .285/.286 boolit thru a .285 sizer and fill ALL grooves with lube, if you don't, then when ran thru the .278 sizer the groove will fill with lead, the lube stops that from happening.
Now run them thru your .278 sizer(use a push thru if possible), your ready to load and have fun.

I have taken the Lyman 323470 from as cast .326/.327 down to .315 with the above.

Thanks guys. NOW all I have to do is to wait for the LEE push thru sizer that I ordered. Should be in in about 8 months...[smilie=1:
