I ordered some Speed Green lube to try when I was ordering BPSL. I think I am going to like it based on some preliminary results today but it is very sticky compared to the Jake's Purple I have been using. I am wondering if you think I will lose some of its qualities if I were to mix in equal amounts of carnauba to try firming it up some? Has anyone tried this? I normally use a heater with the Jake's lube so that is not a problem.

I wouldn't add more than 15% (Felix?) carnauba. I'm pretty sure you don't want to mix it in 1 to 1. The carnauba might be a primo additive for the Speed green in warm conditions. However, it may cause buildup in cold conditions. Bullshop lives in Alaska (lucky dog!) and made this lube for those winter conditions.

I added some beeswax to his NASA Blackpowder lube to firm it up for our warmer California weather and it works fine.

Yeah, 15 percent is more than enough. ... felix
