They look really good for your first effort! Welcome to the addiction! Let us know how they fire. They are tumble lube, so you should be able to fire as dropped size wise. Start looking for a supply of wheel weights locally.

Yes Sir, fine looking boolits. I own a Lee melter that is almost 30 years old and it is still going strong. Welcome to the addiction, as snaggdit so aptly put it.

Those are some fine looking bullets. Just think how good your going to feel when you shoot 'em. You'll want to dig 'em up and do it again:mrgreen:

Great looking boolits. I started casting my own boolits a couple months ago with a Lee 230g in .452 RN lumble lube mold for 45acp. Your look alot like mine.

I still remember the good feeling I had when those boolets started dropping and piling up.

Have fun and keep pushing lead.

tumble lube is when you just put some boolitss in a container add some alox lube and swirl around then let dry. load and shoot.
versus sizing and lubing in a star, lyman,or rcbs type machine.
the ribs hold the tumble lube, whereas the others fill a lube groove or multibpe grooves.

I decided on the tumble lube bullets because it seems to just be easier. :)

Yep, and you can use the Lee Liquid Alox on lube groove boolits as well. My 40 S&W loves the Lee 175gr trunciated cone lube groove boolits with LLA. I tried pan lubing, but I didn't have leading before, and the lube worked just as well, only more work. Back to LLA.

Man, I think that bottom pour is a new model. When did they come out with that type of lever???

I've been using the same kind of pot for 30 years. Worked great for about 20 years, and then mine got to leaking so badly that I welded the bottom shut and started using a dipper.

Really nice boolits. The Gods of The Silver Stream sure have a good hold on you he he....

I've heard using a dipper makes for better boolits. And why is that excatly?

I have that same pot, bought used (but good looking) two weeks ago for $100 along with 50lbs of boolit aloy 75% ww and 15% lino. I'll use it for 9mm. Or cut it maybe with just a tad more ww...

Alrighty...this is the last time I try to do this outdoors.
I went out and fired it up since the skies were clear earlier. Figures that stupid weather forecast would get one right for a change.
Cut short by incoming rain clouds again :D

Don't cast indoors. My wife banished me to the garage. She likes shooting but, says the fumes in the house are a no no.

Oh sure, you think you'll be able to control it. You think, "Hey, it's just one mold and a pot--it's just a 'cheap' set up."

Pretty soon, you're clearing the whole bottom shelf of your reloading die cabinet to make room for molds, handles and sizers. Pretty soon, you start to worry if the shelf can hold the weight of those neatly stacked molds.

Maybe you get a bucket of wheel weights. Maybe part of a spool of lead sheet. Some old shot perhaps. First fifty pounds seems like enough. Then three-hundred. Then more.

Then the ingots multiply. They're everywhere.

And soon, you cannot escape...

THE LEADENING

[dramatic music and woman screaming goes here]

Have fun (while you still have free will)!
