Gentlemen--There are plenty of charts out there on the effects of wind on bullets that have to do with wind speed and direction. I have not found any info on direct head winds or tail winds. The range I shoot at many times has a wind blowing from behind the shooter towards the target. Can someone give me an idea of the effects of such a wind in the 5-15 mph range on cast bullets with bc's of about .2 and velocities in the 1100-1500 fps range. Thanks Nick

raises andd lowers impact. head wind can raise and move slightly right, tail wind can lower and move left some.
something about a boolit spinning in flight, and it's nose being tipped up till it settled down.

Hi Nick,

When my New, Improved, Deluxe Precision Ballistics and Records Software is ready for distribution, the Ballistics Module will have a Head~Tail wind calculation chart. This is for the Lyman 311141 launched at 1300 fps with a BC of 0.216 and indicates the Vertical change in bullet impact with various head and tail winds out to 500 yards.

Hope this helps.

Respectfully,
Tom Myers
