They are certainly out there, but for free you can go to www.ar15.com and in the AR section they have a complete, with pictures, how to assemble uppers and lowers. It even has trouble shooting.

They show you with pictures step by step on that forum I mentioned above. To boot if you join you can ask questions if you get stuck on something. Can't do that with a DVD.

Even I built one with the instructions on ar15.com. Turned out great, course this was last year when you could actually find parts...

PS I am not far from a total kludge when it comes to assembling things, but it would be hard to tell me apart from a real one. Casting is a real challenge for me.

I have the Brownell's DVD. It's nicely done, works through the process step-by step and is very thorough, showing all the special tools required. I recommend it.

or You could Buy two of everything and bring it too my house
and you can keep the frist one done But honestly you do not need to buy a dvd
it will help more if you know what you want out of the gun
Like do you want fast and light
do you want to make one to make one ragged hole on the paper
do you just want one to have one
there are alot of good Ar's out there
but you must know what you want you do not need to build it
to get it unless you want too say you built it

I like the Larry Crow DVD (building a competition AR, or something like that). He builds Holy Terror's competition AR from the ground up. She went on to win the practical shooting competition with that rifle. He covers the upper (only tricky part, really) in a straight forward fashion that will give you enough confidence to tackle ti yourself.
