Charlie, I can't give you an OAL. I just load them, to where they will fit in the magazine. I suppose if you want to single load, you can go out as far as the lands allow.

It was designed to seat where the base of the boolit is at the base of the neck. Try 11.3 gr. of Unique also.

I went with 3.03 oal as this seemed to meet both suggestions. Went to the range on the way home this afternoon and results were interesting.
The 10 rounds over 8 gr. of Unique grouped in about a 2.75 circle @ 50 yards and had slightly oblong entry.
The the next 10 rounds were over 9 gr. of Unique but were grouped quite verticaly 2" high by 1" wide and only 10 to 15% oblong.
It looks like 45 2.1 is right on top of things with the 11.3 gr. suggestion. And by the way I also used his suggestions for case prep exc.
Things are looking up for my 6.5 she seems to like lead & cleans up alot easier
then copper. :)

If a feller was looking for a 1.8K fps load with a 170 grs GC bullet and didn't want to use a filler, and like 4759 and H335, what loads would your suggest? These are field loads and not interested in having to elevate the muzzle before each shot. Any other powders that are CLEARLY superior are of interest also.

Thanks Buckshot! I have 30 cases ready. I plan on covering the ground between 10.0 & 11.5 of Unique. Having fun while the weather stays mild, winter is coming
back by Sat.
Another question if I may. Do you enlarge flash holes? I have not with the 6.5 r-p brass and they seem to be doing fine with the Unique. In the past I did note improvement in 30-30 using Blue Dot. Whatdayathink?
