Greetings to all. I have just purchased 100 265 gr. gas checked .45 cal. slugs from Midway USA. I believe they are an LBT design. I'm curious what powders and starting charges I should use. I have some 2400, unique and red dot( all carrying the Hecules label) and some 296. Was considering H110 but have no idea where to start with this particular boolit in either 296 or 110. My pistol is a Blackhawk. odis

Just tried something similar Sunday out of a SRH. Started at 19gr of 2400 with Magnus 255gr lswc bb but got leading at a little over 21gr. NO GC though. On edit, got similar results with my W/W cast to 250gr lswc. Sized .452 have not slugged the barrel yet.

I'm not really worried about experimenting with the 2400 but from what I have read about 296 and H110 there is a rather small window between reduced and max. can load data for bullets of similar weight be used safely. odis
