Read a thread on another site about a solider at Fort Campbell that lives off base and never brings his personal guns on base. He was told to LIST all his personal guns and where they are located and whether or not he has a CCW permit. UH-OH! We could be next!!!

I know somewhere I had recieved an email on that issue and it was also pointed out that the officer that issued the order was told it was an illegal order and it was rescinded.

A certain General who ran on the Democratic ticket, dropped out and later supported Hillery, tried to pull the same thing when I was a young LT stationed on the post where he was the commanding General. I hated him with a passion when he was post commander, and was never so glad to see Slick Willie promote him and send him to NATO. I only had on fire arm with me at the time and no one knew about it, and I kept it that way. Still to this day I have a strong dislike for Wesley Clark, and even though he is a General in the US Army he is a power hungry socialist/elitist at heart, who would disarm the civilian population faster than Bo Bo can ... you add the expletive as the two that crossed my mind would not be appropriate.

Best wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe

OTOH...

WASHINGTON – A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed "right-wing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

Shamelessly plagiarized from WND.

The first step has always been registration. :violin:

I saw wesley clark debate carl rove. Politics aside, wesley clark got so mad at rove as to step away from his podium and had to be stopped by the moderator as he headed for rove.

I'm not a fan of either, but rove was the superior debater at that exchange. Clark did okay, but considering he had 'home field advantage' (this was right around the election) and was in a very democratic heavy environment, he did not do very well.

We had a General at Ft Carson who tried that for a while, but it did not last long.

It is different at each post, I have to register any guns I bring on post at Ft Leavenworth, but have never been asked about any others that I own.

The CG of 4th ID from Ft. Hood made soldiers in the division register all firearms stored within 100 miles of post a few years ago. It was taken to court, he was told that he was exceeding his authority, and he stopped. I would think that established a legal precedent that would apply to all 50 states.

Note: I am not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV. Seek competent professional legal assistance.

These are good examples of he concept of "To Be, or To Do", as put forth by John Boyd, Col. USAF, Ret, Deceased.

They called him"40-Second Boyd". He (when he was a fighter instructor at Nellis AFB) would put his billfold on the bar and bet anyone that he could meet them at the Green Spot (an ag location north of the base) at 30,000 feet, nose to nose, and he would be in firing position on the other guy's tail within 40 seconds. He never lost that bet. As the leader of the Fighter Mafia, he gave us the F-15 and F-16. He is the one who gave us the big left hook that took the day in Gulf War 1. When he worked in the Pentagon, he had a speech that he gave to his subordinates (He doted on his subordinates, and raised merry he]] with his superiors).

These subordinates, typically 0-3/0-4 USAF Acad grads and on a track to flag rank, would be told "Sometime you will come to a fork in the road. If you take this path, you will get promoted on time, or even below the zone, and get good assignments, and maybe even make General. You will have to compromise with your beliefs, and you will lose many friends, but you may Be something."

"On the other hand, if you go this way, you might be able to Do something for your country and your service. You won't get the plum assignments, and you probably won't get promoted below the zone, and you probably won't make General. But you will keep your friends, and you will Do something to improve the service and your country."

" The choice is yours. Do you want to Be somebody, or do you want to DO something."

I strongly commend Boyd's biography, Boyd - The Fighter Pilot That Changed The Art of War, by Coram, to everyone in this forum.

Clark, and others of his ilk, as mentioned above, are who Boyd was talking about. They would rather Be somebody than DO the right thing. Many of us can provide examples...

Oath Keepers is scaring the youknowhwat out of EIP (Everyone In Power) in Washington right now. Friend of mine is a GS-15 with DHS and says his inferiors in Washington are going nuts about it--some even trying to call it Treason.

What a laugh. Military and law enforcement personnel, past/present/retired, pledging to UPHOLD the Oath they swore to protect and defend the Constitution being called Treason.

Only in an Obama administratum. . .

Fortunately, my service was many years ago. We had no such silly BS--even when James Earl Carter was our commander-in-shame. We were allowed to store our personal firearms at the base armory. Those of us who lived off base were allowed to still store them at the armory when we got deployed or went on TDYs. We had a helluva good wing commander. He took care of his troops.

Too many ring-knockers all trying to get E-Ring assignments these days. I'm for rif-ing them out. Sooner the better.

TDY; Temporary DutY

Ring Knocker; An academy graduate (mostly elitist snobs) not to be mistaken for ROTC or OCS graduates.

E Ring; Choice pentagon assignment.

RIF; Reduction In Force, AKA: FIRED.

Just a little mil-speak translation.

+1 on Wesley Clark, he is an Idiot trying to further his position with the "Eletist" and hiding behind his "service". He is no friend and a poor example of our militay men and women.

God Bless our troops and hopefully they remember the oath we all took when we served, unlike Mr. Clark.

Echo,

I have read that bio, or another bio, about Boyd. His accomplishments were many and came at great personal cost. But he put his country above all personal wants or needs. A fascinating read, anyone who takes the time to read about him will see what a genius he was and just how much he gave this country.

I urinate on clark.

Cheers,

Phil

It was my good fortune in two branches of the military to serve with some excellent officers, and just a few loosers. There are those who rise via incompetance and tail kissing in peace AND in wartime. Then there are those who somehow (Like Col Boyd) who manage to do good in spite of some of the tail kissing yoyos. And once in awhile, some of the greats do rise to the top in spite of the yoyo's and politicians both in and out of uniform. Chesty Puller, Bull Halsey, George Patton and a few others come to mind.

I had no idea others thought the same as I about Clark.
I served at adiferent time I had guns and kept them in my locker.I picked up a win 16ga mod 97 and went hunting with it. I still have my hunting license from Trinadad.flamingo tasts good and blue heron and crane.all dark meat.and with a glass of grape juice shot of rum{160proof]and grated nutmeg on top.the only trouble was the one a month box of ammo for my 1903 colt 38acp.the 16 ga was a little deal 22lr for shot shells bypassing the police permit system.:coffee:[smilie=1:
