I have a mid 20's version of a Marlin Model '94 with inspectors * stamping in 44-40 that I am considering buying. This one has a bright bore and is in about 40% exterior condition. Functions well and headspace is good. No buggered screws, wood is sound although dinged a bit and no serious rust or pitting. Original sights slightly damaged. Appear to be a Sheard front with bead missing and a modified rear to compensate for loss of bead.
This rifle has the two original tang sight holes and also original holes on the receiver top for the L.L. Hepburn receiver sight.

Any idea of a fair purchase price?
Does anyone have a photo of the L.L. Hepburn sight they could post?
