Any Vetterli shooters interested in a two cavity group buy ?????
Two cavity because it would be cheaper and maybe easier to make, so it can be done faster.
I don't have any picture, drawing, or even an idea of what it would be.
I'm thinking something along the lines of 433di, 310gr, gascheck, round flat nose.
Just looking to see how many might be interested.

How about a heeled hollow base that was
designed (by 45 2.1) just for the Vetterli's long throat.
And will work through the action.

On top of all that it shoots very well too!

I think a single cavity would work just great.
Get ten or so interested and we can get it going.

I have a Vetterli but unfortunately it has a very small bore. It measures about .404 bore/.419groove. I have the Lee 430-310RF mold and the slugs are just too big to try and size down enough to work. Due to the age of the rifle I am not going to take any chances on running excessive pressure due to an oversize bullet. I know my rifle is the exception to the norm and I hope you guys have some success on your group buy pursuit.
I did recently score a unique mold off eBay. I'll take some photos and post it in the "Mold Maint & Design" Section. I am hoping that the mold will work in the Vetterli - I need to do some work on the mold first it is in sad shape.

Baahhh, maybe I should just add another Vetterli to the collection, one with a more common bore[smilie=1: Always need an excuse to buy a new toy.

One of the members hear, smokemjoe has
had a lot of experience with Vetterli's.
Maybe he can give you some direction.

Looks good to me. At least it has a decent size hollow base, not like the piece of **** designed a couple years ago over on the British Militaria site that I was unfortunately involved in.

Hay I got one of those too.
Cast about 5 or 6 and never used them.

If it is the same mould(took forever to get?) then I actually have KYWoodworkers mould. I complained to the Honcho of that mould buy, and told him in no uncertain terms that waiting for the other DIFFERENT moulds he had ordered at the same time as the Veterrli, while he had my Vetterli mould sitting in his living room for 2 months already, was unacceptable. He basically told me to piss off, he would do whatever was most convenient to him. We went back and forth, and when I finally threatened legal action, he sent me my money and sent EVERYONE ELSE their mould. After KY's house burnt down he sent me his unused mould as he didn't have the Vetterli anymore(burned). I'm still holding it for him. Unfortunately the Honcho didn't send me my loading dies either.

I'd be interested in one.

What dimensions are you planning on going with?

I've never tried a hollow base before.
I don't like the heeled base design.
If we could make this a non-heeled base, it would be good for me.
How heavy would this bullet bee????
433di would be good for me.

Base would be .430
Weight would be about 340Gr.

You might pose this question on the Swiss Rifles forums as well.
They have a large following in the Vetterli adaption and shooting arena.
FWIW.

The leaders of that forum "pooped" on any boolit idea that wasn't theirs to begin with. Been there and tried that....................

I could use one. I have the Lee 430-310 but would like to try something designed for the vetterli.
