I have just ordered a custom 3 cavity mould , the bullet will be .451 / .835 long / smooth body / 325grns / flat base/ RN , also a jig of my own design to make hollow points after i cast the bullets , hollow point will be 3/16" and depth will be adjustable - will be shooting this bullet in a sabot , gun will be a 50cal long rangehunter , anyone have ideas on the lead , i think that i want it to be medium hardness , but at the same time want the expansion factor also , went to smooth body , hoping it will release from the sabot better , mould is to be made from brass , any reply would be welcome , good or bad .

I would go pure lead. Since you are going to go Sabot, you will not worry about leading. With the hollow point, it will be devastating. Or perhaps 20:1. 20 parts lead, 1 part wheel weight.
That one ought to be a thumper.

Pure lead maybe as much as 2% tin.
If you ever get your hands on a 45 70 you will also have a dandy candidate for a paper patched round.
