I was having trouble finding lead wheel weights from businesses so in my area there is a weekly newspaper that is all ads of people selling things ie cars/trucks/boats/equipment/ect so I put an add under the wanted section looking for scrape wheel weights. It came out on Wednesday and sure enough that night someone called he had a small can of them only 4lb but he also had a 9lb block of pure so I gave him a few bucks. now today [friday] I get another call from a guy with a 1/2 5 gallon bucket. so if any one has this type of paper it doesnt hurt to give it a try.

Note a bad idea. Soon there won't be any more lead WWs, and we'll have to find other sources (and probably pay more). Casting still makes sense when buying the lead or alloy, but less so than when the main ingredient is free or cheap. We have to explore every avenue possible.

I use craigslist. Done very well getting lead. Anything from old shower liners to WW to blocks of pure.
