A nice 180 GR 357 RNFP Like Lees 158 GR But a 180-gr bullet? I would like it in a lee 6 Cav 359180 RNFP . I don't know why no one has gone for this before. I think it would cary distance better than the 158 and kill better in both 38sp and 357 mag and should be a dream in the carbines. Any honcho out there? J.Michael

I missed a nice one GLL ran a short while back. The boolit was a heavy 190-210 RN GC ( http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=35972)I don't think its in yet.Ya may want to check his out and see if thats what will work. Or JD Henery ran a .358-180 RNF opened7-7-07,Boomer Mikie ran two .360-180 RNF PB,and it twin .360_180 RNF GC 12-7-06,3-14-07,and also 357Max ran a heavy Lyman clone. 358627 215gr swc 0n 3-19-07

I have the original 180 grain RNFP GC that Lar45 did long time ago over on the Accurate Reloading forum.
If you would, in your design take a few thou off of the nose diameter from midway to the point where it is full boolit diameter. It interferes with the throat in my GP100s cylinder and I have to load them shorter than need be for that one reason.
Way back when it seems like Lee cranked out the GBs in short order or maybe it just seems that way now looking back.

I think Boomer Mikey did a group buy on a 180 grain RNFP about two years ago. I think it's been ran three different times.

Here's some of the old posts. It was ran in both a gas check and a plain base.

We (CB) also did a GB with NEI .NEI has the cherry for the .360-180 FPGC design. The GB with NEI was done early last year . NEI moulds are a little more expensive. NEI -6 cavity -$ 140.
I dont remember who ran the NEI GB.
I have a Lee GB 6 cav .360-180 FPGC and the NEI GB 6 cavity .360-180gr FPGC drilled a little deeper to get 205gr. Both shoot very well in a 357 Max revolver and Contender 357 Max and Contender 358 GNR.The quickest option is NEI.
I have a Lee GB 6 cavity .360-205gr that is do in any day now.

Any interest in a GB for 359180RNFP
I am interested. I will keep an eye on this thread. Please consider gas checked so that it can be pushed harder in a lever gun. Also a TL design would be nice.
Casting had not entered my sphere of awareness the last time one like this was run. I was contemplating a Ranch Dog mold of similar design that's just little bigger than what I really want. I would like to see a 6 cavity mold if possible.

There is nearly always a good amount of interest in one of these, as several past GB's attest. When a 358/180-ish six-banger mold is posted in the Buy/Sell forum, it will last maybe 10 minutes. If you run a GB, they will come...actually, your main barrier right now is Lee. Since they have gone to the "random selection" system of when they actually make their custom orders, rather than doing them in the order they receive them, interest across the board has cooled somewhat. I dunno though, it still might be worth a shot...

I would like to have a 180gr. gas check in a 6 cav Lee. I missed out on the last few that were run.
So count me in for one if it is a Lee and in 6 cav gas check.................Terry

I may be in, but I would like an option other than Lee first.

NEI will make you a .360-180 FPGC- 4 cavity for $110 OR a 6 cavity for $140.

BBT for more interest. I would be interested in a 2 cavity or a 6 cavity. I have found that I can cast plenty of boolits with a 2 cavity. It doesn't take long to build a pile of them. Also, having worked with one of the group buy 357180s I would like to see it made oversized at .359 or .360. You can always size down but not size up.

Could cut a gas check and plan base in one mould.
Would have to talk real nice and get 45 2.1 to make
some changes in the original design. But it could be
done. Could run it all the same. Get 15 orders and
will do it.

Have a drawing of this one:

357-180 F.N.G.C.
45 2.1 might have some ideas of something
that could be ether P.B. or G.C. with a hollow point.

Crabo - What is the nose length on that boolit. Because of magazine feed issues with my Marlin, I am looking for a nose length of .300 or shorter. I know I could just seat the bullet past the crimp groove but I am looking for a correct fit to begin with.

Blammer, that's exactly what I am looking for. With that design I am in for a two cavity. We just need 15 orders total for Swede to make it. Who else wants one? The prices are here (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=53566). If everyone agrees to it it will be a 360180RFGC.

Feel free to use the drawing, if you want a better or a different one let me know I'll email it to you.
I'd probably be up for a 2 cavity with a dbl ended HP pin on one. :)
