I have shot the Saeco #243 and Lyman 245496 out of my 6 BR with 1:12 twist.
This put together rifle(Mauser action, Heavy 6mm BR barrell) shoots 3/8 min. @ 100 with condoms, I can get about 3/4 to 1 1/4 @ 100 with either of these 85gr boolets.

All my load data is at home but some of the powders I have tried are BLC 2, 2015BR IMR 4895, SR4759 and maybe a couple of others that I can't remember at this time.

I have built a second 6BR on a Rem. 700 SA with another pull off heavy BR barrel with 1:12 but have not had a chance to test it yet.

Thanks Calamity Jake
My 6mm Br is built on a 700 action heavy fluted stainless barrel. Shoots great but would shoot it more often if I didn't have to pay for the price of jacketed stuff.. If you could send some of your loading data when you get home it would be great Thanks for the reply

I've got a 6BR barrell for my Benchrest rifle. It is a 1/14 twist tight chamber-tight neck setup for 62-70 GR bullets. It'll shoot sub .200 groups in good conditions at 200 YDS WHEN i steer it right. I've won enough wood with this setup at 200-300 yard matches to fill one shelf in my trophy cabinet, and prefer it over a PPC when the conditions turn particularly bad. My two favorite powders are Dupont 8208 (almost imposible to find) or Hogdon Benchmark. For a GAS CHECKED boolet, I'd probably try a light load of IMR or Hogdon 4895. I also have a 1/12 twist 25BR built on a Remington Model 7 I use for an ultralight deer rifle and 4895 works well in it with a 100GR gas checked boolet.

You guys would have better luck with faster powders. The idea behind this is to expand the boolit enough to keep a tight seal throughout the system so the boolit will not exit faster than about 2400 fps using normal WW without fancy augmentation, except for a little tin to make the boolits perfect. Perfect means no variation in weight or diameter as cast. If there is variation, seperate into different piles. Reject all boolits that are 0.4 grains out of kilter. Boolits are good when the mold is warped making out-of-round boolits. Just make those diameters the same for one pile. Take your time in sizing them absolutely straight. What helps is to wait a month after casting them to do the sizing. Hard boolits size better. ... felix
