Gentlemen : Have free handed made nose or bore ride dies for the 7.5X55 bullet, To size them down so the bullets will not push the check pass the neck. I am working with some of the reamer people to have a reamer made up so I can ream stock and fit them for the Lyman And RCBS size- lubers, This die would be only to size the bore ride down after you have sized them and lubed them in your other die, As the bullet goes in nose first in this die. I dont want to get a group buy started but just wany to know if anyone would want one, This would also work in other 30 Cals. that push the bullet back into the case, If so we will start a thread on what bullets you use for dems. I kind of know as I have made 4 by free hand so for and bump dies for my rockchuckers, Thanks for reading, Joe

I'm interested as well. I don't understand everything you're saying, but hope to see a drawing at some point.

Gunjunkie, Swed.Marvin. and others whom maybe interested. So far I have come up with a die that sizes the bore ride on the nose at. 296 to .301 for a lenght of .400 long. This works okey on the Lyman 311284, RCBS 200 gr. sil.311335 and ly.314215, The bands size is .311 but dont leave alot to ride the bore and groove on the bands, but it dont push the bullet back behine the neck, What bullets are you fellows going to use and I am making this up for a mint barrel, . I made die for Mr. Wolfe in Ind. that worked great, Wolfe, shoot me a email, You fellows let me know what bullets you plan on using. Thanks- Joe

I've got a 311284, but what I want is something that will let me put boolits through my 7.5X55 without nearly all of the boolit being in the case. This sounds like the thing. Also I have some tight 30 cal target rifles that may benefit from this kind of treatment as well.

Gunjunkie : Have worked 3 days now on a die and tapered the 311284, That one is a long bullet, By the time I got it for the gas check to be even with the bottom of the neck , the bullet is tapered to much and under size for its lenght. The lyman 311355 is about the longest so far that you would want to taper. Most all other bullets are okey, from the end of the nose to the 1 st. band I have tapered the bullet from .296 to .303 at the top band. Keeping the case neck tight for a .307 bullet to hold the cast bullet it will seat itself into the throat, From the way it looks this is going to be the dem. I will have the reamer made at. I would like to have more import on this , Thanks for reading, Joe

Smokemjoe,

Too bad about the 311284, but what you say makes sense. I have plenty of other 30 cal moulds to use. My favorite is a 150 grain RCBS, and I've got a Loverin from a group buy that may be ideal for this treatment as it is a stepped diameter mould already....311407 MOD.
