Hi All, I have Lot RAD78L 7383 and the Lee CTL 312-160-2R Mold. I am looking for a plinking load at 50 YDS. Thanks, Ron.

I take a plinking load with it and the Lee C309-170F for my .30-30 A.I., if y'all don't mind. Thanks in advance.....

Ron in PA & 308, If you search both this and the Accurate Reloading forums for "IMR 7383," "7383" or posts by Richochet or {Roger} Bartsche, you'll discover that 7383 is much too slow to use for any kind of loads in the 7.62 x 39 and probably the .30-30Win. as well. Indeed, 4350, which 7383 mimics in the .308Win. & .30-06 family of cartridges, isn't the best choice for jacketed bullet loads in the .30-30 (leverguns). If you're seeking an economical powder for the 7.62 x 39mm and the .30-30Win., consider milsurp WC 820 which is ~AA 9 in burning rate. In the SKS, 14gr. with a 150gr. CB will reliably operate the action and give 2 m.o.a. accuracy (or better) from my "as issued" SKS. 15gr. will do the deed in the .30-30 (levergun) with CB's bet. 160-180gr.

O.K. then I'll save the 7383 for my .308 and '06, and stick with WC820 in the A.I. Thanks again.....

Thank you Maven. I'll use the 7383 for the 30-40 & 30-06. Ron
