I was digging through some pure lead and found three pieces that I don't know what they are.

They are strips 11 inches long x 3/4 inch wide x 3/8 inch thick. On the strips are the following" alpha sn40bs" each one weights 1 pound. The lettering is barely visible and appears to be rolled or stamped into the bars. The stuff is pretty soft and bends with a little effort.

Anyone have any idea as to what I have?????These don't look like any bar solder I have ever seen, but perhaps I haven't been in the right place at the right time.........Wes

If you have a bar you suspect to be pure tin, it will make cracking sounds when bent.

Decoy weights? Do they have a hole drilled in the end?

Probably bar solder of some sorts 40% tin. That would be my guess, if it means anything.

The pics. wouldn't be anything great just a dull lead strip. No hole in the end and they don't crackle when bent I suspect some sort of solder but I don't know so will keep them back for later use. I think Montana Charlie has hit the nail on the head so it is some sort of solder...Thanks so much.....Wes
