Anybody have a Rem. Model 12 with original bluing?

I've been restoring an old one (1910 second year of production) this winter and am nearly ready to blue it. I need to know if the bolt release lever came blued from the factory or was polished white. The one I'm restoring was all one color when I got it- brown rust. But the release lever had a different color of rust than the rest of the gun, which leads me to think it wasn't blued. Any help would be appreciated.

The release was blued, the receiver was cased as I recall.

I have had several model 12s. All of the levers are or were blue.
