I'm getting ready to try my gas check bullets (.44) without checks. When sized there's now lube where the check should be. Any thoughts on this? Remove it? If so, any tips for making this messy process, well, not so messy? Or should I just leave the lube there and not worry about it? I haven't tried seating one yet.

put a piece of styrofoam tray in your sizer where the check would go.
if you are using a hard lube no biggie.
but i knoiw you ain't ,so i would wipe it off.

Shooting GC bullets without the GC funnels powder gas toward the first barrel contact area the bullet has, which sometimes causes leading. You might want to try some with and without the lube to see how it goes. You may find that the lube being there is a good thing. Good luck.

It never occured to me to remove the lube when I load low velocity .38 or .44. Let us know if it makes a difference.
