Are they still backed up on shipping? They charge your card when you order and then you have to wait for 2-4 weeks before you receive your order.

$1.52 per pound isnt' much to get excited about right now. Last year it would have been a good deal.

I'm confused, Armyrat1970. Did you say #2 alloy? I think that link was for pure lead ingots, ran a search on their site, couldn't find lyman #2 at all (maybe I just missed it) but that would be a good price for it. Check out the rotometals.com link at the top, they sell 55 lb lead pigs even cheaper and have good prices on all sorts of bullet alloys, some better than I can buy scrap/dirty/unknown lead here.

The wideners link was for a 56lb ingot of 92 PB, 6 SB, 2 SN alloy.

Ole is correct. Go to the link and click on the spot that says PB56 Lead Ingots 56lbs approximate $85.00 delivered and you will get a description of the item. According to Midway the mix of 92-6-2 is the newer version of the old Lyman #2 alloy that was 90-5-5 with a BHN of 15. My Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook list #2 as 90-5-5 with a BHN of 15. Midway states that 92-6-2 has a BHN of 16 so it is basically the same. Rotometals sells this for 141.12 for 56lbs at $2+ per pound. Don't know if they ship for free. You can get 56lbs delivered for $85.00. They are experiencing delays in shipping of up to 18 days but I bought 56lbs anyway. I can wait for that price. They also state the item could be +/- 3lbs. Hope mine is +.
Went to the Rotometals site. 56lbs of this alloy would cost you $134.00 without shipping.

Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up for me, I didn't go further than the page link itself, it just said "lead" so I didn't click on the picture or text for details, just ran a search of their site for "lyman #2", as which it is not listed. thanks for posting the info and sorry about the confusion. I might check into this as I usually use ww/+2% tin which gives me a bhn of about 12-13.5 and I happen to have a bunch of pure lead languishing in a bucket, might dilute some of this Widener's stuff with it plus a little tin and make my favorite brew.....

Also a good price for a good alloy. Good for most all aplications for handgun and rifle. If any is still available next week I will buy more.
