Yes, too soon to drop from the mould. Let them cool a little before you dump them. You can tell they were still somewhat soft when they went on the pile as they have conformed to the ingots they are laying on top of.

I like to drop mine on the concrete not on top of each other, It helps to cool them off a little faster. The cold concrete sucks some of the heat away from them.

hey I used to cast them in an old muffin tin, untill I tried to put them in my lee bottom pour pot. Then I bought a real ingot mold. The old cast iron corn bread pans work well too. You know the kind that looks like an ear of corn. I see alot of people selling them on ebay like that.

I have made lots of good boolits out of bad ingots, I would throw them in your ingot bucket and not worry about it.

Bad news is yes they were too hot when you dropped them. Good news is they still work the same when you go to use them. Kinda breaks my heart though!

I almost bought a cast iron heart shaped mold for ingots from wally world after valentines day! But at 1/2 off, $8 was still too much for an ingot mold. I'm too cheap! I watch the thrift stores...

if they are really that big you might be glad they are broken.
so they will fit in the pot.
