'03-a3 and Garand scopes

I'd like some help on setting up these two rifles as "sniper-like" rifles. I have plunged into the project with more money than brains, and have ended up with a Weaver 330 scope and a Lyman Alaskan. My question right now is if these two match up for Weaver/'03-a3 and Lyman Alaskan/Garand. If they do match up, are there any recommendations for mounts for these two. I am following a Griffin and Howe for several hundred, and wondering about mounts in general. Any help from you high functioning military shooters out there.

Not one of the "high functioning military shooters" part, but:

Sarco advertises some of the M1D parts needed. Not sure if you're looking for all original/correct or just something put together to shoot at the range. If the former,

The Lyman Alaskan is a 7/8" inch tube, so it will work with the original M1D (or repro) scope rings. As far as being correct, probably more so far a very early M1C, but good luck with G&H mount.

Redfield used to make a special one piece base for the O3-A3 that fit over the male dovetail on the bridge and used two holes drilled and tapped in the reciever ring to secure the front. The proper ring set is the Redfield "junior" in 3/4" diameter. The army used these to mount the Weaver 330 to make the O3-A3 in to the O3-A4 sniper. The rings and base were parkerized.

You should be able to find pictures on the internet that show the proper pieces.

if its just to look authentic fine.BUT the garand needs to be ofset and have a leather cheek piece.the springfield could be set up like the mausers and such if it an 03.on the rear sight.the A3 S&K makes a mount.the WW2 scvops and mounts
were a disgrace.I had a couple G43s and the scopes were really good.:coffee:
