View Full Version : 129 grain SPITZER Sks/AK bullet thread AGAIN!

Boys, lets start all over again. We tried this before and ended up talking about 3 different bullets at least. :oops: What we need to do is try to find out how many guys here are interested in buying a Lee 6 cavity mold that drops a GC bullet that weighs 129 grains or so specifically for all the AK's and SKS rifles out there.

We will also need an honcho to step up please.....

If the last group buy shoots well, it would be tough to beat 45 2.1's design. Haven't shot it yet - can't 'til tomorrow - but at least (in Linotype) it feeds in my AK Hunter (which hangs up with any kind of a flat, hollow or soft point).

Is that only going to be available in a 6 cavity mold or would a 2 cavity also be available? I don't know if Lee lets you mix & match like that or not, so I'm just asking the question. If I could get a 2 hole version of this boolit, that would be my preference. Otherwise, I would settle for the 6. Either way, I want in on this one.

I like the boolit design. It looks like it is just what it needs to be & the fact that its a little lighter than average for that caliber, & will save some lead, makes it even more attractive to me.

7.62x39, six cavity, Lee, dropping something around 130 grain?

on the drawing there are two area's in front of the top driving band, can you tell me what Dia. these two flat area's are and how much of the nose it at least .301 .

The driving bands were speced at .314", while just in front of the crimp groove was speced at .310". At .150" closer to the nose the diameter had tapered down to .306". I'm not good enough with a mike to tell you at what point back from the nose the diameter reached .301" - though Bobby undoubtedly knows. Perhaps someone else can measure their mold or a boolit to give you more information.

Jim, sounds adaquate , I can use a Lee .311 to size them from the base to keep from putting to much force on the nose, then lube & size then .310 for my 308's and 30 Cal. Contenders

Scratch me off the list guys. I laid into a big stock of lead, so lite weight boolits aren't as interesting to me as they once were.

That is a total of 15. I was worried this one would die on the vine.

Guys, there is NO WAY I can honcho this, but I would be all about pricing these so the honcho got one for free! We still need a honcho for this buy.

I might be interested. Are we still talking about a 129-130 grn SPT? I already have the Lee 155 grn SPT and would like a lighter boolit for my SKS.
