338 gas checks [Archive]

OK, I've never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the chandolier, but I never considered myself the dimmist either.
But here is the question for all of y'all.
How come I can't fine any Hornady 338 gas checks, I want to buy a Lee 338 mould and only 32 and 35 caliber checks can be found.
Am I missing something, or will 35 caliber checks work on this?

No, you have to use .338 gas checks. I have a box of Hornadys on the shelf, and heard they weren't making them anymore. Then a few weeks ago, there was a post on one of the forums with a link to one of the mail order outlets and they were listed again.

If all else fails, I believe Gator checks are available.

Hornady has them on their web site, and I think you can order from there if you want.

Cool, thanks guys, couldn't imagine someone would not make 338 checks anymore.
