Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find a good starting point for reloading 38sp with a 150 grain swc (Lyman 358477). If any of you guys have any experience with this bullet, I would really appreciate your input. I would like to use my Hornady 38 cases with Winchester primers. My powder on hand is AA#2, Power Pistol, Bullseye and IMR PB.

My lyman cast bullets book shows load data for this bullet but for 357 not 38.

Thanks for any suggestions!

4.0 grains of Bullseye or PB have been very accurate in my guns. PB is a very clean powder.

+1 on the 4 grains of Bullseye with that bullet.

All those are good powders for that boolit. I also am a big fan of Bullseye.

I use 8 grains of Blue Dot in 38 special for 358477. I also size this bullet to .356" and shoot it with 6 grains of Blue Dot in 9mm.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. My 9 year old daughter was in a hurry for me to find a combination for some 38 special she and I are reloading together. I hope her interest in this continues. My goodness. What young minds are up for these days when you don't have a TV/video games on all the time!

I'll try the bullseye first.

Never thought about it but I guess I could use this for 9mm too. I'm still very new to casting at this point.

Thanks!
