Its like $450 (left handed) at MIDWAY!

Anyone know of anywhere else that is cheaper. I'm in IL, so some folks won't ship.

Also, does any one want to get rid of any left handed frontloader?

BTW, I'm wanting the .54 cal, but will settle on the .50.

Thanks

Lefty,

The TC Omega doesn't matter if your left or right handed, but it's a 50 caliber modern inline. Hell of a muzzleloader. You may find it for sell in your area. Try Walmart maybe.

Graf & Sons sells the lefty for $382. I see they're out of stock for the left handed model though. A person might call and see about it. www.grafs.com

I've got a "like new" Lyman Deer Stalker in 50 I'd let go for $200 plus shipping. It's a flinter but, I've got the original box and it's in excellent condition. Very lightly used. PM me if interested.

I have an "inline" barrel for my Mossy 500, and I've shot the NEF HUNTSMAN. But I just like the "old school", maybe that's why I like single actions. Thanks for the suggestion though, I have shot one and they are nice, but too much $$ for my budget.

Hey Lefty red,Being a southpaw you are going to pay a premium for anything made for ya. I am right handed,But with only one good eye.the left one.So I sorta feel your pain.I have been shooting right handed M/L the wrong way for 30 years.I just got used to it. Funny how after all these years though if I pick up a pistol I use my left.Just holding one in my right feels ..strange. Not what you wanted to hear, but it is cheeper. My .02 worth

Jim

I've shot EVERYTHING "wrong" since I started shooting. But now that I'm "old enough" to keep guns instead of selling them the week after, I want THE GOOD STUFF! Plus, the Prince and the oldest Princess shoot lefthanded.

I paid $315 for my Great Plains about 5 years ago. They do seem to go up every year, but to me for a production flint muzzleloader they are tough to beat. I carried it more this year than any of my other hunting rifles. I shoot the Hornady "PA Conicals" for the 60" twist and they work really well. You won't be dissapointed if you find one. Best of luck.

BLACKPOWDERBILL is going to do me right on one. He has really worked hard to get me this deal and to get it to me here in the Republic of Rod.

I built my own lefty from parts I bought at Track of the Wolf. It has a Green Mountain barrel for ball shooting. Works for me. :)

I don't have the room to put together BP right now. If I can't get it done in a day or two and put it in the reloading cabinet, then it's nix. Plus, by the time I mess up here and have to buy extra parts and the supplies to finish it, I might as well buy it ready to go.

I always wanted to build me a .36 caliber squirrel rifle. And a 28 gauge fowler. But the damn barrels aren't built to "scale". It seems they have two sizes, one for .45 caliber and smaller and one for .50 caliber and up.

Sure wish they make a light .36 or .32 caliber, maybe tapered, barrel. That big old barrel amd small hole makes heavy packing.

Years ago a friend of mine built a flinter in .36 caliber. VERY nice looking and easy handling.

If I ever do a flint lock, it'll be in something like .32 to .36 in the Pennsylvania style. I just think they are so cool looking! And not punishing like my crescent butt .54 Renegade with a 420 grain MiniƩ ahead of 100+ grains of powder.:???:

Is there a Sportsmans Warehouse in your area? Two years ago they had the great plains hunter for 320, which was quite a bit cheaper than anyone else I found. I don't know what they charge now.

Nope.

$400 is about the cheapest I've been quoted, this year. And that's why I'm ticked off, two years ago they were at $300 - $350 regular price. I'm jumping down to KY this weekend and I'll look down there.

Try living in NY. :( Which senator should I call?

Anyways, one of my co-workers has a sinister .50 Great Plains he bought from Midsouths for the princely sum of $350. I'm sure they have more.

Wait until June and buy somthing nice at the Spring Shoot at Friendship (IN)

Let's see... Ill law says no commercial transfer of a firearm to within state confines not addressed to an FFL.

Why won't Midway ship to your local FFL?

Regarding the following: I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOR DO I PLAY ONE ON TV...

Since it is a "non-gun" for BATFE purposes, why not have it shipped to someone in a border state? Hell, get a PO Box at a "Mail Boxes Etc." or similar chain that takes UPS deliveries and have it shipped there.

As long as you have a FOID, how/where you got a non-4473 gun shouldn't be an issue.

Oh, and Cabelas runs them for $499, and their House Brand Left Handed Hawkens for $299.
