A friend and I are looking at casting for the AR-15 rifle and was wondering which bullet design would work best. We are looking at the Saeco 221 and the Lyman 225415 designs. What lube size die size would be best to start with .224" or .225" and which lube is best for these little guys. Has anyone here been down this road? What have you learned? Thanks!

I've been playing with a Bushmaster with the 26" barrel 1:9 twist, using the 225415, 18 to 20 of surplus 4895 (so far 18.5 gave best groups), sized to 225. Cycles reliably, leaves quite a bit of an easy to clean sooty residue on the bolt, and in the receiver. 10 shot groups in the 2" range with 18.5 with old eyes and iron sights, sitting. Got the load and guidance from various posts here. Beagle's articles on Castpics were quite valuable, along with a couple from Larry Gibson.
