Hello guys. Been lurking around for a long time soaking up the information. I'm an avid caster and my passion is the real oldies with big holes in the barrels. I have a Trapdoor that is just a shooter. Been refinished and the stock sanded so I picked it up fairly cheap. It is solid and been working on making it shoot. Since it is not a collecter, been thinking about putting a midrange tang sight on it to help my failing eyes. How would I go about this proper since it has no tang? Thanks

Do what the military dis for the Springfield Officers rifles, inlet the tang sight into the wood and secure it with wood screws. You will need to make sure as you inlet, that it goes down level. I would also use a sight with a long tang for stability. I did a trapdoor like this in 1982 and it is still shooting on the money.
