What is the diameter of the Lee Pro 420 melter? I bought some muffin tins for ingot molds before I thought to ask this question.

Not sure what the actual diameter is, but the muffin tins that you buy at wally world fit just fine.

Never measured mine but I think it is about 4.5 inches (inside diameter).

4" at the widest point, 3.5" from the rod to the back. Muffins will fit fine.

They won't fit in a Lee Pro 4 pot. Use mini-muffins or 1lb ingots for it.

Muffin tins come in at least 3 different sizes.
Mini, medium and magnum.

I have found that it is a lot faster to premelt the ingots and dump the molten lead into the Lee pot. I like to use at least 2 molds at once. A lot of the time 2 6cavity molds. When I add a few ingots to the Lee pot the lead in the bottom spout hardens.

Regular size muffin tins work great in the 4-20

I pefer using cornbread stick mold 'cause it allows me to stand the ingots on end and the ingots store better. My muffin "tin" was cast iron and didnt fit the lee 10 lb casting pot but works firn with the 20
