I just recieved mine yesterday and today I cast 770 boolits without a hitch. Good little machine for the money. I know the RCBS and Lyman are more expencive products but I couldn't be more happy with my Pro-4-20.

The Production Pot is a fine furnace, but its stopper rod being on an angle keeps you from melting ingots of any size quickly. It also can not keep up with a 6-cavity .45 or .44 mold.

I use one as a melter (no more stopper rod) to back up a Lee 20-pounder.

I have the lee 4-20. Works great for me. The adjustment knob is a little wierd, but heats up fast and keeps up with my 6 bangers.

If you occassionally dipper cast, you'll appreciate the Pro-4-20 advantage of having the metering rod vertical.

If you must have a Lee then get the bigger pot.

When I went to buy my casting pot, I picked up the Production Pot box. My beautiful, wonderful wife asked me, "Do you want that one or the bigger one?" Being really cheap, I opted for the smaller pot. Wish I would have gotten the bigger pot every time I cast.

If you are casting 175 grain or less rifle boolits from a 1 or 2 cavity mould...the smaller pot is probably fine. If you're doing a ton of handgun boolits or large rifle boolits, or want to try ladle pouring...you're best off with the larger pot.

My Pro 4-20 works well, once I got it broken in, and the drip takes a bit of practice to control. The bottom pour is nice for ingots (alloy mixing, not smelting) and I ladle cast for boolits.
