I bought this today not because I really wanted it but the gun shop WAS SUPPOSED TO order me the Lee 452-255 RF. Well he ordered the wrong one and I called Lee to see how fast I could get the one I wanted. Lee is behind shipping orders at least 3 weeks they told me maybe more. I said what the heck my dealer ordered a shipment last week as I ordered a mould and a factory crimp die for 45 Colt and it came in less than a week. She said that was then this is now. OK So I got the 255 RF on order and he may not even order it for a week until he gets a larger order so I felt I better get this mould as long as I could grab it just in case it may be a while to get the mould I want. SO any one use this mould for your 45 Colt shooting?

jh, I've used the above mold in question with outstanding results. Also love the RF version. I use 8.0 grs 231 for my go to load in 45 colt with excellent accuracy. I know some people like to knock the Lee molds, but I always feel rather smug, when making accurate bullets from an inexpensive mold.
In fact, I liked the above molds so well, I got the 6 bangers in each style. Talk about cranking out some bullets.

Thanks for the Reply Like I said I reordered the RF version again but glad to know this mould works well too. Myself I like Lee stuff I figure its good value for the money.

That is a dandy boolit, one of the most accurate in all my .45's. Mine casts right at .453" in WW alloy.

well then maybe the shop owner not ordering the right one may be a blessing in disguise as this way I will have two moulds though I only wanted one to start with.

Well cast up a batch tonight and I quite counting over 120 bullets I figure I cast 130 or so and that pretty much took care of a pot full of WW from my Lee Production 4 bottom pour furnace. Mould worked flawlessly from the first bullet to the last and I know some have said here that they do not care for that Frankford Mould Prep but it sure works well for me. Gonna run them through the lubrsizer tomorrow and I got a friend who just bought 45 Colt dies the same time I did so I am going to give him 50 bullets to start him out. I suspect he will start casting soon as he is getting geared up for it eventually.

Thats what I am getting either .453 or .455 in that range.

Well loaded up a hundred of these today but I doubt I will shoot anytime in the next few days forcaster is forcasting 10 to 14 inches of snow. Blea I am getting tired of winter.

Hullo Jh45, I'm glad to see having fun casting ...share with your buddy and get him going also, it is a great hobby and we all get to use the fruits of our labor to have more fun.

I have lots of molds, but the Lee molds are some of the ones I use most. If they don't drop the right size boolit, the molds are easy to lap to what ever size you need, and you can buy a 6 holler for less money than a 2 cavity Lyman costs. Hard to beat .

Enjoy casting and shooting:brokenima

I have used that bullet in my Ruger Bisley and my Glock 21. It's worked fine in both. Feeds fine in the Glock.........Mike
