Take a look here:http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=47365
for a little info and do a search for AR15

I haven't slugged my AR-15 barrel but being fairly new I'm going to assume it's .223 .. I've measured my copper jacketed boolits (which I fire through this same gun) and they're all right at .2235 As a rule of thumb I normally try to go about 2 thousands over for cast boolits; my question is with the higher velocity weapons (like the AR) would everyone here feel comfortable with a .225 GC boolit???

Thats the dia. I shoot in mine, .225 and load just hot enough to cycle the action.

I shoot .225 in 223, 222, 22hornet, 22-250 and it works well in all using 22 Bator and Lyman 46 gr. boolits.

There have been several threads in the past that covered this topic. Some of them referred to Mike Ventorino's (SP?) magazine article on cast in the Mini-14. I think that there is a lot of good information already out there on the board if you do a search.
