ive got some brand spankin new R-P 45-70 nickel cases ive been using brass cases with no problem im using 38 grs of imr 3031 with a 500 gr cast gas checked sized to .457 (cast with a lee number 90376 C457-500-F ) ive used this load without any problem. When i try to load it into the nickel case it wrinkles the case at every lube band and the gas check im using hornady gas checks also. Anyone have any suggestions im opening the mouth the same as with the regular brass but the bands are lower in the case :castmine:

Can't help much on that problem. I don't have any problems loading nickle cases. Are you trimming the case the same as the others?

Are these new, unfired cases? Have you sized and belled/expanded the case mouths/necks?
What is the inside diameter of the case neck area of a case ready to seat a boolit in?

The symptoms you describe say the case is too small. You may have to go to a larger expander for the Nickel cases.
