I have used 7.5 grains in the past with store bought 240 grain SWC's.

In fact, I used to seat these puppies backwards in my Redhawk to decrease empty space in the case. :D

The only charge I've used is 7.5gr. Fantastic results.

The Winchester data for 240gr bullets says 5.5gr to 11.0gr:

I never load for accuracy when I use light loads because just plinking at short range lets anything work fine. I just dump in 7 gr and have fun. Same with Unique. Pleasant can jumpers.

20 grain it IMR4227 will almost fill the case! That is what I am loading right now and love it! I have a good plinker and do not get any leading. Specs show it should be just under 1000 feet/sec.

I use 7 grs of 231 behind the 429421/253 gr and the lee 200 swc. Both run around 900 fps and are very accurate.
