Lyman #2 formula
Does anybody remember the formula for Lyman #2 alloy mix?
What do you think about the new solder for copper pipes (98% tin .093% silver bearing) to mix into the pot instead plumber solder which is 50/50 .

Lyman #2 consist of 90% wheel weights, 10% 50/50 bar solder. It has gone thru several mixes in the past , but this is the one most casters use to get this alloy. As for the solder I do not have any experiance with it, but if you can get it at a reasonable price it should be good source of tin.

According to Lyman in their cast bullet book #2 alloy is 90 % lead, 5 % tin, and 5 % antimony.
