I bought an aftermarket, Storm Lake barrel, Glock 23 to shoot lead. I have loaded a couple rounds to check for function. The loaded round at 1.1 will not chamber, getting stuck in the up position. Looks like the feed ramp is too steep? Anyone else had this issue?

They work fine in my Hi Point 40. I load them at 1.120.

Do they feed in your factory barrel?

I had problems with the SWC Lee 40. You could try polishing the feed ramp. You storm Lake barrel probubly has a tighter chamber too for better acuracy. Mine wouldn't load in my Wolf barrel.

I too have a LW barrel in my Glock 23. With the Lee mold if I sized them to 401 they would not chamber. I took a marker and colored the case to see exactly where they hung up and found that at .401 the boolit expanded the case enough that there was some resistence as the round went about 2/3 into the chamber. Sizing to .400 remedied that problem but than found I had another. If I loaded at OAL of 1.135 the shoulder of the boolit engraved very hard on the rifling. Seated at 1.120 solved that but I didn't like seating them that short. So I purchase a Lyman 401638, 175gr TC I could seat out to 1.135 no problem. I believe it is because the LEE version has a larger metplate and is shorter from the shoulder to nose so at the same OAL as the Lyman the shoulder of the Lee is further out of the case.

Hope this helps.

Polish Feed Ramp, Lee Factory Crimp Die or change bullet style. Your description is kinda vague though.

Thats with the assumption that you are loading your rounds with enough umph to cycle the slide properly.

I just started loading the Lee 401-175TC for my Glock 27 (w/ FAC replacement barrel).

Seating to around 1.125 with a light taper crimp gives me pretty good results.
I think I've had 3 (of the last 500) which failed to feed.

I had a similar issue with that bullet and my Para 16-40 Ltd. I had the barrel throated and now load that bullet to an OAL of 1.210. Feeds great and pressures are lower to boot.
