Just wondering if there's a way to fix this, or prevent it from happening again? This is the second time I've used this mold and the plate is very flexible. It will easily bend with a little pressure. Wondering if this is normal. Should I just get a replacement plate?

That dont sound right and I would call the manufacturer to see if they will replace for free. Their not supposed to bend that easy. Or upgrade to a heavier one that will fit.

In the past Gussy on this board had a source for a heavy sprue plate---check with him and see if still available.

It shouldn't bend all that easy. As was said, contact the maker.
To flatten a sprue plate, or other metal, place on a smooth faced anvil or other piece of steel. Your vice may have a large enough surface, just make sure the entire piece can lay flat on it. Use a smooth leather faced wooden mallet, and you can make metal perfectly flat.

Ive straighted a few of the lee 6 cavity spruce plates. It takes alot of heat for those molds to run well and the spruce plates do tend to warp. I just put them on a flat plate of steal with the bow up and smack them with a 2 lb sledge. May sound crude but it works.

Midway sell replacement Lee six cavity sprue plates, if Lee won't replace it under product warranty, which I would think the would.

Are you sure the plate is warped?
I recently took delivery of several GB molds, Lee's, and found one that had a large burr on top of the screw hole, for mounting the sprue plate pivot pin/screw, and it looked like it was warped until I took it of and saw the burr.
As I was in the process of "LeeMenting" these molds anyway I fixed that issue as well as added the set screw to add tension to the mounting screw and the steel "insert" for the sprue plate cam to press on!
All I had to do was hold the blocks tightly together and push the mold over some 400 girt sand paper that I taped to a thick piece of flat glass. Several light strokes got the top smooth and flat and the plate went back on with no flexing.
When used it had no fins or other defects that would be caused by a warped plate.
Suggest you pull the plate and inspect the top of the block before returning it to Lee.
