I have located 10,000 lbs of hard and soft lead. I can not buy it I don't have that kind of money right now. But I remember seeing a group in AZ buying 4000 lbs as a group. Is there any interest in doing something like this right now? The lead is located in NW Ohio. If there is some interest I can get you contact information.

The guy told me he wanted .50 per lbs. But it has to go as one lot. So $5000 for 10,000 lbs of lead.

I'm in NW Ohio but I am WAY N and WAY W. I'd be willing to help out with a GB but personally I have no desire to purchase at .50 per lb, that is too high IMHO.

.50 is way too much.. .30 or less.

But if it's all you can get and it sure is easy getting a huge lump at once than scrounging here and there though.

I'd go for 600 pounds at $0.50 a pound. I'd go more, but transport is an issue. I'm near Toledo.

At .50 a pound........ thats kind of high isn't?. The local price for lead is .22~.35 lb at the local scrap yard (when they have it in).

I'm in NW Ohio, I would be interested in the soft lead depending on what form it came in? And if the price dropped from .50

OK I called today
He is a salvage yard looking for a steady buyer

$ .45 a lb for soft lead if we buy a bunch , $ .50 a lb if only a few ton , that is what he has a lot of
Mainly cable sheathing , some range salvage
Claims he can get $ .40 overseas

He said he he has some what he calls Hard lead and would let it go for $ .35 a lb

IMO he might be talked a little lower

But he is close to 2 hours from me in Mansfield in my pickup truck and hauling a trailer would be longer
I can't haul a load and make it worth it

I will pass the info along to anyone interested that is closer
I forgot to ask how much hard lead he had and what it was

OK first off I would like to thank John for making the call and talking to Bob Steven at the scrap yard. But it appears it is too far for John to haul that much. He posted the prices in the thread. DO we have anyone who would be able to handle a group buy and able to get that much lead? I am in SW Ohio so a good 3.5 to 4 hours for me plus no cabability to handle that much lead. Just a freak accident how I found someone with that much lead. I was looking for maybe 200 or 300 lbs. He offered 10,000. Shocked the hell out of me. But thought of you guys here at cast boolits and was sure someone could handle this. I will even offer my services to help load and unload if we can get this taken care of.

If you want to head this up contact me and I will give you Bob's number.

Thanks
Tom

I'm possibly interested in a couple hundred pounds from the SE Michigan area.

That's an awful price for that kind of quantity, no wonder he wants to get it off his hands.

I'd take a ton @ .25-30 cents, depending on how we'd deal with shipping.
