View Full Version : Must I ship muzzleloader to FFL?

I have a LeMat percussion cap lock revolver at sale. I just received a note from an interested buyer who wrote that I must ship the revolver to an FFL holder, per USPS web site information.

While this may or may not be accurate for USPS, I am unaware of any regulation change that forces me to send it to an FFL holder rather than directly to the buyer -- unless the buyer's state or municipality prohibits direct shipping.

Can anyone help me out here?

Not true. The Lemat is not restricted, being a BP firearm.

Usually you don't have to but some state regs require it.

It is not a firearm per BATFE or postal regulations and thus can be sent however you like-do NOT notify the shipper because they will not know a firearm from a non-firearm and will likely refuse shipment.

Though it may not be needed to do so I've sent the cylinder seperate before that way they can't say it is a entire gun. Then just say it's gun parts.
