i am working with a 14 in tc barrel with rcbs 200 gr rnfp gc cast bulletssized .358 . i am getting 2" group at 100 yards with first load i tested. after some more load testing and hopeing to get it a little better, i thought i would try the same bullet sized .359 . what do you think about the little tighter bullet? and no i have not sluged my barrel.

I do not think it will hurt. I size my .357s at .359 routinely.

I say try it and see how it works. Sometimes it works to size that boolit .001 or .0005 larger then you've been and see how it shoots. My .300 savage slugs out at .308, but seems to prefer .310 sized boolits. Never know till you try...

Willing to share your loads there? I have an old 10", have the 200 grain gb, and a RCBS 200gr Sil, that I would like to try.

Give it a try at .359" but if your alloy is very hard, you may start to see some flyers. If you try to go too fast and your lube is marginal, the increased friction from another .001" in bullet diameter may result in some fouling and disappointing targets. Trying to match the bullet hardness to the pressure should be tackled if your already getting nice round two inch groups at 100 yards. If your pushng things kind of fast, pay attention to your lube. If you get a lead wash near the muzzle after only a few shots, it's time to invest in another lube. Lots of factors at play here... the most expensive is your barrel.

i will look up the load tonight. i am thinking there are more varables in the best load for your gun using cb than j bullets. lead type , hardness, air cool, water drop, size, lube , bullet shape, and that is just the bullet. then you start loading it. i shoot ihmsa steel sil. up to 200m . with a new cal. i find a load that works good enugh to hit all the targets and run it. when i have more time i start to refine the load. i doo thid because i do not get a lot of range time , even thow i have 100 m at my house. i will be shooting the 357 herrett sun. in a match with j bullets. before next mo. match i hope to have the cb working.
