I have no suggestions, but I am incredibly jealous of your rifle. I'll add that just thinking about it makes me drool!

I have a 30-40 Krag rolling block. I shoot the Lyman 311299. I have won a lot of matches with it. We shoot out to 500 yards.

I've seen one only in real life and two on the gun auction sights. I should have purchased the #3 when I had the chance and was a little more flush. I to envy your rifle! Enjoy!!

I sold a #3 in 30-40 to Typecaster. Give him a shout and see how he has made out with it. Another one of those I wish I would not have sales.....

I have done a bit of testing with mine although I haven't used that particulat mold. All boolits were acww and sized to .311 with Hornaday Alox. I have probably shot more of the Lee 309-170F than any other. This rifle doesn't seem too particular about powders tested up to this time except for H-322. I have not fired a good group with this powder with any boolit tested. Most accurate loads with this boolit were 20.5 grains of RE-7, 25.0 grains of Varget,18.0 grains of H-4227 and 15.5 grains of AA-9. Both 2400 and 4198 exhibit vertical stringing and I think would do better with a filler. I have been experimenting with drier very successfully in other cartridges and will try it in this one this summer. My most interessting load with this boolit is with 15.5 grains of ENFORCER. There is no tested cast boolit data for this powder but it is slightly slower burning than it's stablemate AA-9. I have been testing it in both this cartridge and the 3030 with excellent results. It does not seem to be position sensitive in these two cartridges and has been providing some very accurate loads.
I purchased a new RCBS 30-150F mold that turned out to be seriously undersized and out of round, particularly on the nose. I tested it in a Winchester 94, Marlin 336 and Savage 219 and the very best group was five inches at fifty yards. Fired in this rifle ahead of 23.0 grains of IMR-4895 it consistently shoots groups smaller than 3/4 inches. Go figure!!
The Lee C-.312-155R proved to be a vary indifferent shooter until I tried 25.0 grains of Varget and that seem to shoot under 3/4 inch at fifty yards fairly consistently. 26.2 grains of IMR-4895 shoots almost as well. 24.2 rains of 3031 comes in a distant third.
I want to try 311041 and 311284 this summer. Hope that this helps. Neil
